No fad here! LED headlights are certainly a step up from typical tungsten beams. More and more as of late, drivers are paying particular concern to the quality of their headlights; in many years past, one of the last things that a driver would consider upgrading. Especially too, considering that a new pair of headlights as an aftermarket purchase is relatively inexpensive.

Also, the probable safety factor should not be overlooked; as long as the headlight upgrade actually results in a significantly better view of the road. During adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and fog, or a snowstorm, the ability for the driver to see the road ahead better cannot be over-emphasized.

LED stands for light emitting diode, which will provide a brighter light using less power then tungsten equipped headlights. Numerous foglight designs now include LEDs; which makes driving in particularly thick fog, though not advised, significantly safer. LEDs are also used in some taillight applications.

Although intelligently and rationally, safety first should be the main reason for installing LED headlights, there is the WOW factor; that is, so-called styling which is probably a good guess that most people think of first when considering the colorful array of LED headlights and fog lights. The highly efficient, long reaching beam of light that each LED headlight projects should actually be the main reason for this aftermarket purchase. They truly are among the most worthwhile safety products in the aftermarket… though as previously stated, safety might be the second consideration with the array of stylish colors the first.

They do look pretty cool with surely a color to suit your taste. Foglights are a different story though; to best penetrate fog, yellow would be the best selection and red would be second. Actually, customization using LED headlights and fog lights can result in both cool styling AND increased safety.
